Position Summary
Position Summary
As a Commis Chef, you will support the Culinary team in the daily preparation and production of high-quality dishes across the resort's Food & Beverage operations. Working under the guidance of senior chefs, you will assist with mise en place, food preparation, cooking, and maintaining an organized and hygienic work environment.
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen experience is preferred.
- A passion for food and a desire to build a career in the culinary field.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen procedures.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior chefs.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- A positive, reliable, and motivated attitude.
- Flexible availability, including shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food according to established recipes, portion sizes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Carry out daily mise en place and ensure all ingredients are properly prepared and available for service.
- Work independently within the assigned kitchen section while following direction from the Chef de Partie and senior chefs.
- Assist with the preparation of dishes for restaurants, buffets, bars, events, and other Food & Beverage operations.
- Maintain consistency in taste, quality, portion control, and presentation.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, labeling, and rotation of food products according to food safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workstation throughout the shift.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP procedures.
- Check the quality and freshness of ingredients and report shortages, quality issues, or equipment concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Support the Culinary team during busy service periods and assist other kitchen sections when required.
- Minimize food waste and use ingredients and kitchen resources responsibly.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing kitchen supplies when required.
- Maintain proper communication with the Chef de Partie and other kitchen team members to ensure an efficient operation.
- Follow all resort policies, procedures, and Culinary standards.
- Contribute to a positive, professional, and team-oriented kitchen environment.
